1. The purpose of this notice
This privacy notice sets out how I collect and use your personal data, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and any other data protection legislation from time to time in force. My firm is registered as a 'data controller' with the Information Commissioner under reference Z9291458.

I am Richard Roche-Saunders and I practice as Roche-Saunders & Co, Chartered Accountants, an accountancy practice, and my office is at 34 The Watton, Brecon, Powys, LD3 7EF.

I may collect your personal data by means of telephone, email or post, or directly from you when you send me your books and papers.
I may also collect data from publicly available resources, for example, Companies House and other regulatory organisations and, where authority has been given, from H M Revenue & Customs.

I use your data in order to enable me to fulfil the services which we have agreed that I will provide, relying on the legal basis of my contract with you. These services typically comprise, but are not limited to, the preparation of annual accounts and income tax returns, and the management of payrolls. This may also include processing your personal information where you are an employee, a sub-contractor, supplier or customer of my client.

I may share your personal data with another party, including, principally, H M Revenue & Customs, but also including, for example, a firm of professionals or other agency working on your behalf (such as, but not limited to, solicitors), so long as I have satisfied myself that the other party is acting on your behalf. I do not, never have, and will never, sell your personal data.

I keep your personal data only for as long as is necessary, principally for the provision of services, (and thus data is retained from year to year), or until I consider there is no need to provide services or you request that it be erased.

Under certain circumstances you have a right, by law, to request access to your personal data, (commonly known as a 'data subject access request'), to request correction of this personal data, to request erasure of this data, and to request transfer of this data to another party in a safe and secure way.

Where appropriate, data is kept electronically secure or, where the data is physical (eg, your books and records) then every effort is made, where practical, to keep the data in locked cupboards.
